Travel Log #
Inspired by seankhliao’s travel log I have decided to buy something like this too. It was a nice exercise to find out where you’ve been the last few years. I’m sure the list is not complete but I’m sure all the countries are there.
You can find it here.
OpenBSD KDE Plasma #
Good news for all KDE Plasma users. I was able to fix the screen locker. The fix has been committed and with the next update this bug should disappear.

OpenBSD ports update #

After 2 months and a lot of work the Qt6 6.8.2 update is finally ready and committed. This was followed by the QtPy6 update and all its friends and neighbours.
Of course, the KDE stack is now (almost) up-to-date again. Here is a list of everything that has made it into this update.
- pulseaudio-qt 1.7.0
- KDE Gear to 24.12.1
- KDE Frameworks to 6.10.0
- py-qt-builder 1.18.0
- sip-6.10.0
- py-qt6webengine 6.8.0
- py-qt6 6.8.0
- py-qtpy 2.4.2
- py-sip-qt5 12.17.0
- py-sip-qt6 13.10.0
- Quotient to 0.9.2
- mlt to 7.30.0
- Clazy to 1.13
- kirigami-addons to 1.7.0
- kgeotag to 1.7.0
- olm to 3.2.16
So now we’re all waiting for the packages and when they arrive. I’ll get to work on KDE Plasma 6.3 and KDE Gear 24.12.2.
Writing … #

Blogging is like work, but without coworkers thwarting you at every turn. – dilbert.com
You may noticed. There is constantly more content on this blog. I realise how I always take time to write. I enjoy it and if it’s fun, it can’t be bad. To be honest, my resolution is to create more than I consume. Sounds like an Open Source slogan. Anyway, enjoy reading.
Chemnitz Linux Days 2025 #
I have submitted another presentation. This is based on the blog post (“What every IT person needs to know about OpenBSD”)[https://nxdomain.no/~peter/what_every_it_person_needs_to_know_about_openbsd.html] by Peter N. M. Hansteen. Unfortunately, this was not accepted.
If we look at this year’s programme, it is unfortunately a Linux-only event. There is no BSD in Chemnitz Linux Days 2025. That’s probably okay.
